We are passionate about well-told, impactful stories. We love to listen to them. Watch them. Create them. So, we decided to talk with premier storytellers from around the country. Hear their stories and get their insights. From novelists to comedians to film makers to artists. Stories are told through a variety of people in a variety of ways.
And here they are. The secrets of great storytelling from great storytellers.
Steven James is a national bestselling novelist and critically acclaimed storyteller. With a Master’s Degree in Storytelling, he has taught writing and creative storytelling around the globe and has written two books on the craft of writing: Story Trumps Structure and Troubleshooting Your Novel. Publishers Weekly calls him “[A] master storyteller at the peak of his game.”
When he’s not writing or speaking, he likes watching science fiction movies, trail running, and eating chicken fajitas—although not necessarily at the same time.
Steve Laube is a literary agent with nearly 40 years of experience in a variety of fields. He has worked as a bookstore manger, an award-winning editor with Bethany House Publishers, and is the president and founder of The Steve Laube Agency, which has represented nearly 2,000 new books in genres ranging from romance to fantasy to theology. Steve is also the owner and President of Enclave Publishing, one of the premier publishers of Christian fantasy and science fiction.
